Grace and Aroha Educare

Services

We believe that you are the most important person in your child’s life. Our knowledge and wisdom has been gained through years of experiencing our own children plus many others who have passed through the doors of early childhood centres where we have worked. It is with this insight that we are able to see things clearly and support you through times that may be challenging. This can be as a new parent to a newborn or with a toddler who is reaching the desire to be autonomous but still too little to do it alone through to the young child who has developed their own opinions and want to let you know all about it.

Parenting is not a “one size fits all” approach and for this reason we believe that spending time with you in your home or mine, supporting you to see your child through a different lens, creating healthy habits, and giving you emotional support face to face is how we serve you. Getting to know you and your child is how solutions can be found to the challenges often faced.

Although there are some amazing services available already in the Waikato, it may either be too hard to get a space or it is a short term service. This may help some, but not all.

If you are experiencing any type of struggles, you are not alone! No one tells you that breastfeeding is not always easy, that sleepless nights will leave your brain foggy and that those baby blues are completely normal and yet no easier to deal with. Our passion is to help you enjoy those small moments, to see your child as a whole person, and to encourage happy and healthy relationships in your family.

Take a look at our list of services. If there is something else you would like to discuss please send us a message or give Jay a call. We want this to be accessible for all, so please reach out no matter what your situation.

Sleep Support

We all know that babies don’t come with manuals, but there are valuable insights that can help you support your little one in getting more sleep. Every baby has a natural need to feel safe and responded to. During their first year, in particular, they may still require your support in linking sleep cycles, adapting to new sleep cues, adjusting wake windows, and evolving as their needs change.

A kōrero with Jay can provide you with the knowledge and confidence to understand these aspects while also helping you discover the best ways to respond to your baby and settle them in a way that suits their unique temperament.

Jay offers in-home visits where you can get answers to all the questions you've been eager to ask. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by endless online information, let Jay guide and empower you—helping you navigate this journey with confidence and truly enjoy the special bond you’re building with your baby. This meeting (of up to two hours) will be followed up with an email which will include a summary of our kōrero and a Daily Rhythm Guide for feed and sleep, especially developed for your individual circumstances.

Overnight Stay

Having Jay stay overnight to care for your baby can provide parents with a much-needed night of rest. For younger babies, this means Mum is only woken for feeds, with Jay taking care of resettling. For babies who take bottles, it can mean an uninterrupted night’s sleep for Mum.

For new clients, an initial meet-and-greet is arranged before the overnight stay to ensure everyone feels comfortable.

A typical overnight stay runs from 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a kōrero in the morning to discuss how the night went.

Welcoming someone new into your home overnight can feel like a big step, but rest assured, Jay will care for your baby as if they were her own. With a calm and patient approach, she gently settles babies—no "cry it out" methods here!
